The children were tickled when she tried to carry water. The girls start carrying water on their heads when they are about six. Before that, they are expected to haul all they can carry in plastic jugs. The bottom collage shows village life: The man carving wooden statues to sell; the never-ending dishes to wash with hauled water; the women sitting on tires for chairs; the grannies cooking and gardening; the huts which are plastered by the women and roofed by the men; the goat hut which is dubbed "The village bank" because goats are the traditional trading commodity ; the simple kitchen shelves which could put glutenous kitchens to shame.
